June 2018 NEWS

 
 The GUMCEP summer program will begin on Tues, June 5th.  Many day trips are being planned to include: visiting the skating, movies at Big E in Gaffney, Greenville Zoo, Mr. Gatti’s, picnics at Foster Park, and a talent show to showcase our children’s talents.

 

May 2018 NEWS

 

 Another school year at GUMCEP is coming to an end. May will be a busy month with lots of activities taking place. On Friday, May 11th, there will be a Mother’s Day Brunch for all the Mothers to attend. The End of the Year Program and Graduation will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, May 24th. The last day of class for the children will be Wednesday, May 30th. The Summer Program for the children will begin on Monday, June 4th. The children and teachers stay very busy at GUMCEP. Come and visit anytime!

 

March 2018 News

Many activities are being planned for March at  GUMCEP.  Dr. Seuss’ books will be read to the students to celebrate his birthday. The children will talk about Spring, Saint Patrick’s Day, and work on activities about the shamrock, etc. Daylight Savings Time will begin on March 11th, so don’t forget to change your clocks!   

 During the month of March, GUMCEP will celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss by  enjoying his books during story time.  The children will also learn about St. Patrick’s Day and have a surprise visit from the Leprechaun.  Don’t forget to wear GREEN!  The children walk to the Carnegie library once a week for story time and to participate in activities.  GUMCEP children love to learn everyday and enjoy visits from the community.  If you would like to volunteer, please contact Robin Bennett. 


January 2018 News

 
GUMCEP will re - open on January 2, 2018, after the staff enjoys Christmas holidays. GUMCEP will close for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on January 15. During the month of January, the children will study the following themes: Winter, Snow and Snowmen, Animals in Winter and Hibernation. Enrollment continues to flourish with several children on the waiting list. GUMCEP wishes everyone a Happy New Year 2018! 

 

July News 2017

GUMCEP students have had lots of fun this summer going to the Big E in Gaffney, the library, having water fun games and many more activities.   The children are looking forward to an end of summer luau, complete with leis and hula skirts on  August 9th.   Union County Schools will begin the 2017 year on Thursday, August 17th and so will GUMCEP.  On Monday, August 21st, the children will observe the solar eclipse with special craft projects and snacks.  Special glasses have been ordered for everyone so that they may enjoy this historic event safely.

May News!

GUMCEP is completing another successful school year. Practicing has already begun for our End-of-the-Year Program, “Traveling with GUMCEP”, which will be held on Thursday, May 25th, at 6:00 pm. Everyone is invited.

GUMCEP’s Summer Fun Program will officially begin on June 5. Teachers are busy planning and scheduling summer activities for the children. Trips scheduled for the older children include weekly movies in Gaffney at Big E, picnics at Foster’s Park, and monthly trips to Mr. Gatti’s. The younger children will participate in story time at the library, and playing lots of learning games. Come and visit GUMCEP anytime.


April News!

GUMCEP will kick off April by anticipating the Easter Bunny and working on Easter activities. The children continue to enjoy their trips to the Carnegie library once a week for story time and to participate in activities. Our annual End-of-the Year program is fast approaching. Please mark your calendars for Thursday, May 25th, at 6:00 pm and share the date with family members and friends. GUMCEP children are literal “sponges” and enjoy meeting new people and making new friends. If you are interested, please contact Robin Bennett.
